The system characteristic will be determined by the mathematical law that is bounded; it is normally desired to get results as close to the real world conditions. The simulations needed when applying optimization algorithms might be very time consuming due to the complexity of the actual model. Regardless of it, it is better to have computational data before fabricating the actual hardware for experimental purpose.
