Summary: | The study was conducted to determine the teachers’ perceptions towards the use of Test Specification Table (TST) in developing classroom tests. The study was focused on some constructs which were the teachers’ knowledge on classroom test construction process, the level of skill in constructing the TST among the teachers and their understanding about the importance of TST in classroom test construction process. There were 45 teachers from SK Taman Mutiara Rini involved in this study. Questionnaires had been used as the instrument for data collecting. Data collected were analyzed for frequency, percentage and mean values using the Statistical Packages for Social Science (SPSS). Results showed that the level of the teachers’s knowledge on classroom test construction process was high based on these three aspects: the determination of test objectives, test planning and test administration. The teachers were found to have highest level of knowledge on the administrative aspects of the test with a mean of 4.52. While, for Teachers’ Skills Level in Construction of the TST, teachers were found to have the skills based on their knowledge and experience shown by the highest mean of 3.97. The teachers' perceptions towards the importance of TST in the Classroom Tests Construction showed a high tendency towards the aspects of the importance of TST in the Classroom Test Construction with highest mean of 3.74. There was a positive relationship between teachers' perception towards the importance of TST in the construction of a classroom test with their experiences in constructing classroom tests. In conclusion, the teachers’s knowledge classroom test construction has the highest mean value. Some suggestions for improvement also proposed in this study. |
