Summary: | The purpose of this study is on implementation and comparison of a behaviour-based safety (BBS) program in Company A, a chemical company based in Johor, Malaysia. BBS is an observation-intervention tool widely used in industries worldwide due to its sustained effects in behaviour improvement among employees towards a safe working culture. The background of the study is that the management of company. A favours an approach to complement its current "Accident Incident Management System" (AIMS) which is a reporting tool used on internal occurence of accidents, incidents, or near-misses. The study is carried out by observation and intervention of employees while at work done and this are carried out by observers. The program focused on four production lines in the company and it is to compare the resulting observations of these plants. The result tabulated in the behaviour check sheet will be statistically analyzed using statistical approach. Also, the change in lost time accident (LTA) before and after BBS implementation is compared to establish the effectiveness of the program. |
