Summary: | This descriptive research in the forms of quantitative and qualitative was to identify the role of Excellent Teacher in elevating the competency of other teachers and the academic performance of the primary schools in the district of Kota Tinggi. This study involved 234 sample from 15 gred A primary schools with Excellent Teacher. Quantitative data were collected through survey and analyzed with Statistical Package Software (SPSS) version 15.0. Qualitative data were collected through interviews on three headmasters and four Excellent Teacher. All the findings of interviews were recorded and documented by researcher. The qualitative data were collected to support the findings of quantitative data. The findings indicated high level in the role of Excellent Teacher in elevating the competency of other teachers (min 3.91) and schools academic performance (min 3.89). The findings showed that Excellent Teacher played five important roles in elevating schools academic performance. A part from that, there were five ways the headmasters employed to use the expentise of Excellent Teacher in elevating other teachers competency and three ways in elevating the schools academic performance.
