Summary:The fast development of information technologies have changed industry structures around the world. Blogs have become a new evolution in the media and technologies around the world. Blogs- online journal have been commonly used by travelers to post their experiences about their interested, thought or place they visit and was delivered their information about tourism destination to others. Hence, this study to analyses about blogs as a media alternative for propagation of information in tourism industry. This study focuses on three important aspects which are the potential of blogs in tourism industry, issues and problems faced of blogs implementation and analyses visitor perception through blogs in tourism industry. This study was conducted in Johor Bahru with a sample study of nine respondents where one respondent are from Tourism Malaysia (Johor), one respondent are from Johor Tourism Action Council, three respondents are from Johor National Parks Corporation, four respondents are from travel agencies and 47 web blogs are related directly with tourism industry. In this study, the researcher uses qualitative method where data collection is done through semi-structured interviews. This data and visitor perception was analyzed manually in the form of themes and aspects required in the study. The findings of this study shows the early function of the blog is for propagation of information based on individually experienced. But a several blogs did not function fully by providing the latest information about tourism destination. However the blogs very potential as a media for propagation of information in tourism industry.
