Summary:This study which aimed to identify the implementation, understanding, skills, and problems in mentoring program in Johor Matriculation College involved a sample of 73 mentors and 73 mentees from Johor Matriculation College, Tangkak Johor. The quantitative data of the study were collected through a set of questionnaires, and then analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 19.0. The qualitative data were collected through interview sessions with three mentors and three mentees, as well as from documents analyses of the mentoring programs’ implementation report. The results showed that the mentors’ understanding on the implementation of the mentoring program, the mentors’ understanding on the implementation of a mentoring program, and the skills possesed by mentors were scored at high mean values i.e. 3.75, 3.79, and 4.07 respectively. The findings also revealed six encountered problems in the implementation of the mentoring program. Finally, about 19 recommendations to improve the effectiveness of the program had also been put forth. It is hoped that this study could serve as a guide to the college administrators in addressing problems faced by the mentors and mentees in performing their roles in the program.
