Summary:The purpose of this study is to identify the effect of safety climate to moderate the relationship between safety training practices and organizational commitment in a wire manufacturing company in Johor Bahru. A total of 120 questionnaires received from employees that had attended safety training selected as the respondent. Questionnaires distributed consists of four parts, part A (Demography), Section B (Safety Training Practices), Section C (Organizational Commitment) and Section D (Safety Climate). Questionnaire was developed using the instrument Safety Performance Scale (SPS), Safety Climate Questionnaire (SCQ) and Organizational Commitment Questionnaire (OCQ). The collected data have been analyzed by using descriptive statistics (mean, average and percentage) and inferential statistics (simple regression and hierarchical regression). The finding reveals that the level of safety training practices, organizational commitment and safety climate in this wire manufacturing company is at a moderate level. Besides, the results also show that there is a significant effect beteween safety training practices and organizational commitment. The finding also explains that the effect of safety climate has moderated the relationship between safety training practices and organizational commitment. In this study, some suggestions have been given to the future researchers, the management of the company as well as for employees in this company that had attended safety training.
