Summary:The main purpose of this study was to look at the relationship between the factors of care status and the factors of parental or guardian employment to the problem of truancy in Pasir Gudang district primary school students. This study is expected to have a direct interest in several aspects of education. Specifically, this study will have a significant impact on the management of school student affairs and the formation of the role of Parents and Teachers Association (PIBG) in schools. This study is a positivist study that will use processes that fit the quantitative design. this study is a deductive quantitative study starting from the determination of the hypothesis and the conclusion of the study is either the acceptance or rejection of the hypothesis that has been determined. This study involves the use of questionnaire instruments that will be distributed to a predetermined study sample. A total of 486 respondents successfully completed the online questionnaire. Education perception in general (n = 486) recorded a mean score of 1.41 (SP = .08) with a deviation value of -.198. The parenting style recorded a mean score of 1.29 (SP = .13) with a divergence value of 1.170. The skipping situation faced a mean score of 1.85 (SP = .16) with a deviation value of -1.578. A Chi-Square test was conducted to look at the relationship between care status and truancy and found that the strength value of Phi and Cramer's V, χ (1) = 96.999, p = .004, showed a significant relationship between family factors (care status) with the problem of skipping school. A Chi-Square test was conducted to look at the relationship between the job of a parent or guardian and the problem of skipping school. Phi and Cramer's V. Values value Nilai (1) = 69,928, p = .256, indicating no significant relationship between family factors (parental or guardian employment) and truancy. this study has great implications for the school’s relationship with the local community. This is because the school needs to get closer to the community to know the problems of students from the point of view of students to deal with this problem of truancy.
