Bitcoin officially traded in 2013, since then it reached a market capitalization of more than one million U.S. Dollar. Thus, this research aims to identify the factors that determine the Bitcoin price performance. The dataset used on secondary data (time-series) from January 2010 to December 2019. The analysis based on E-views and SPSS software to do the diagnostic test, regression test, correlation test and autocorrelation test. There are five macroeconomic and Bitcoin-specific factors namely Bitcoin Supply (BS), Gold Price (GP), Internet Interest (GS), Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) and Oil Price (OP) tested in this research. The finding of this research show the BS has the strongest and significant relationship with Bitcoin price performance. The finding of this research also exhibits other macroeconomic and Bitcoin-specific factors such as the GP, OP, GS and DJIA are still significant and has a strong relationship with Bitcoin price performance. As a result, the finding of this research provides implication for the investor, regulator, and public in term of identifying the significant factor that is associated with the Bitcoin price performance. Besides, policymakers might employ the findings related to Bitcoin price performance to recognise the important roles play by macroeconomic and Bitcoin-specific factor to Bitcoin price performance. 2020 Thesis https://etd.uum.edu.my/10053/ https://etd.uum.edu.my/10053/1/s822709_01.pdf text eng public https://etd.uum.edu.my/10053/2/s822709_02.pdf text eng public https://etd.uum.edu.my/10053/3/s822709_references.docx text eng public other masters Universiti Utara Malaysia
