This study also tried to find the difference in the fevel of stress between urban and rural secondary school teachers; based on age, gender and duration of service. Next, this research identified the difference in the level of stress between rural secondary school teachers and urban secondary school teachers. This study has been carried out at four selected secondary school in Kedah, which are SMK Sultanah Bahiyah, SMK Syed Omar, SMK Kuala Nerang dan SMK Naka. 304 questionnaires have been distributed to urban and rural secondary school teachers. However, only 203 questionnaires were successfully collected, which constituted of 85 rural secondary school teachers and 118 urban secondary school teachers. The data collected were then analyzed with Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS) software. The results found that student misbehaviour, workload, time and resource constraints; and salary and benefits had significant relationship with the level of stress among rural secondary school teachers. Meanwhile, the level of stress among urban secondary school teachers had significant relationship with student misbehaviour, workload and; time and source constraints. From these four significant factors, time and resource constraints proved to have the most effect on the level of stress to both urban and rural secondary school teachers. There were no significant difference in the level of teacher’s stress according to age, gender and duration of service and there were also no significant difference in the level of stress between urban and rural secondary school teachers.
