It is also an effort to find out whether supportive, directive, participative and achievement oriented leadership behaviours have any correlation with teacher job satisfaction. 246 teachers from three secondary schools that have form six classes in Pasir Mas were selected. Path Goal Theory by House (1974) and Need Hierarchy Theory by Maslow (1954) were used as framework theories. The data was analysed by Statistical Package for Social Sciences Software (SPSS) version 11.0. Pearson Correlation Approach, Varian analysis (Anova) and t-test were used to test each hypothesis. The level of significance was set at 0.05. The analysis showed mixed results. Hypotheses 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 were rejected while hypotheses 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 were accepted. From the analysis it was found out that leadership behaviour has an effort on teacher job satisfaction. Principals with supportive, directive, and participative behaviours help teachers to feel satisfied with their job. But those who were more achievement oriented gave a negative effect on job satisfaction. These findings led the researcher to recommend that school principals should be more supportive and participative towards their teachers if they want them to be satisfied with their jobs. 2003-07 Thesis https://etd.uum.edu.my/1116/ https://etd.uum.edu.my/1116/1/ROSLI_B._CHE_HASSAN.pdf application/pdf eng validuser https://etd.uum.edu.my/1116/2/1.ROSLI_B._CHE_HASSAN.pdf application/pdf eng public masters masters Universiti Utara Malaysia
