Summary:This study investigates and tries to understand the relationship between excellent quality management practices and school’s performance achievement. There are 128 secondary schools in state of Kedah involved in this research. The concept of excellent quality management practices is operationalized by the following dimensions: management of vision and mission, management of school’s system, management of school’s environment, management of school’s programme and management of schools and students performance, as well as process management. The school’s performance achievement included were the performance of human resource development, the performance of student’s behavioral, the performance of student’s academic, the performance of cocurriculum and the performance of the uniqueness of the schools. A research framework was developed and twelve hypotheses were posited and tested. Data was collected using self-administered personal interviews aided by seconded data from School’s Inspectorate, District Education Office, and the schools involved. Pearson correlation and multiple regression were used in the statistical analyses. Descriptive statistics were also employed. The results revealed that only four of the excellent quality management practices dimensions have a significant relationship with school’s performance achievement. Although the management of school’s system didn’t have a significant relationship with school’s performance achievement, the dimension also needs to be well manage by top manager in order to make sure the school’s management are well implemented. There for all independent variables deserve to be monitored and tailored appropriately in order to enhance school performance achievement. In conclusion, this study provide as insight into further understanding on how to enhance school performance achievement by implementing excellent management practices using the dimensions which are recommended by School’s Inspectorate.
