Those who are involves in improving the effectiveness and efficiencies of educational institutions will have to be very serious about their roles. Among those involves are administrators, principles, teachers, and all supporting staff. Computer usage seems inevitable to achieve an informative and knowledgeable society. The purpose of this study then is to determine factors affecting computer usage among supporting staff of technical secondary schools in Penang. Altogether five (5) schools were involved and all sixty six respondent has responded to the questionaires given. A respond rate of hundred persent (100%) was achieved. The independence variables were post, age, tenure, sex, computer knowledge and skills, and computer anxiety. Six (6) hipothesis was formulated and the latter was tested with Chi-Square test, t-test, and Pearson Coefficient Correlation. This research is in line with the country’s vision 2020 which is to achive an informative and knowlegeable societies in a fully developed nation In years to come all works will require some form of computer usage. Therefore computer usage will have to be intensified to all walks of life in out societies and of course all personnels in educational institutions will have to play a very serious roles in spearheading this matter.
