Summary:This study examines learning styles and attitudes of form four students' towards the learning of English language. A total of 169 secondary schools' students from Telupid district were involved in this study. The respondents comprised of 77 males and 92 females. This quantitative study was carried out by using a set of questionnaires that measures students learning style and attitudes toward English language learning. The data was analyzed using SPSS version 12. Apart from the Perceptual learning style which had visual, auditory, kinaesthetic and tactile (VAK), the five stimulation of learning styles by Dunn and Dunn (1978) which had Environmental, Emotional, Sociological, Physical and Psychological used in this studies to evaluate learning styles among students. The result indicated that students' learning styles are mainly related to Emotional category (mean 3.91, SD=0.48), VAK learning style (mean 3.68, SD=0.43), Sociological category (mean 3.63, SD=0.51), Psychological category (mean 3.33, SD=0.53), Physical category (mean 3.17, SD=0.53) and Environmental category (mean 3.15, SD=0.34). Findings from the study also indicated that there is no significant difference in learning styles based on gender. Results are also indicated that there is a relationship between achievement in English subject and perceptual learning style (VAK). The different learning styles and study attitudes level adopted by students have direct influence in students' orientations and approaches in learning.
