Description
Summary:Today’s environment has become increasingly competitive for higher education institutions which results from successful execution of strategies which are critical for organizations. This study aims to analyze the effect of communication strategy on the relationship between strategy execution and organizational performance of universities in Palestine. The framework explores the dimensions of some constructs and their effects on organizational performance. The proposed constructs of independent variables are organizational level of analysis (organizational size, organizational structure, organizational culture, and reward system), execution plan (execution objectives, execution tasks, and execution responsibility) and communication strategy. Specifically, communication strategy was tested as a moderator. In other words, the effects of these three constructs were measured against organizational performance. The study was developed based on general system theory and contingency theory. The total respondents were 236 and all of them work in higher education institutions in Palestine- Gaza strip. Based on partial least squares SEM-PLS which was used to analyze the data, the study found that a specific strategy of execution with a specific communication strategy produced better organizational performance. However, communication strategy has no effect as moderator in the relationship between strategy execution plan and organizational performance. Finally the findings provide invaluable implications for theory and practice on execution of strategy of service-based institutions like universities.
