The required data were collected through the use of questionnaires. A total of 285 questionnaires were distributed to the student in form 4 Science and Art classes from eight schools. These selected school consists of 4 rural schools and 4 urban schools. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between self esteem and academic achievement based on factor such as family relationship, teachers, peers, anger-feeling, social confidence and health. Through this research outcomes, it showed that academic achievement can be improved by fostering high self-esteem among our student. The research also showed that students with high self-esteem need to be exposed with the right and effective techniques in learning process in pursuing academic excellent.
