Thus, this present study emphasize on calculating job creation rate, systematically to get reliable information regarding job creation in Malaysian manufacturing sector. This study calculated job creation rate in the Malaysian manufacturing sector between year 2005 to 2015. Further, using descriptive analysis, this study found that the job creation pattern among the industries in the High Technology sub-sector is highly fluctuated as compared to other sub-sectors. Besides that, this study also analyzed the determinants of the sector's job creation using the GMM-System technique where the impact of real output, real wages, real assets, and real research and development (R&D) expenditure of the manufacturing sector on the sector's job creation is tested. The finding suggests that the selected variables are significantly affect job creation. Real assets, lag real R&D expenditure and lag job creation influenced positively the job creation. While, real output, real wages and real current R&D expenditure influenced negatively. The contributions of this study are twofold; first, it could provide useful information for the labour force to identify the group of sub-sectors which contribute to the sector's job creation, in the event of job seeking.
