Summary: | The Tahfiz Model Ulul Albab (TMUA) program emphasizes Quranic, Ijtihadic and Encyclopedic approaches which has been implemented since 2014 in secondary schools under the Ministry of Education Malaysia (MOE). However, the results of the TMUA implementation rating report in 2017 demonstrate that there are several weaknesses in its implementation among them the accumulated hafazan dropout. This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the TMUA program based on the
Context-Input-Process-Product (CIPP) Evaluation Model In addition, this study also aims to determine the product influence based on aspects of learning facilities, Teaching and Facilitating techniques (PdPc), the use of Teaching Aids (BBM) and
evaluation methods as well as identifying problems and suggestions for improvement in the implementation of the TMUA program. The Mixed Method Research (MMR) employs a survey questionnaire. The quantitative study included a sample of 302
students and a sample of 144 teachers. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis (mean, standard deviation) and inferential analysis (t test, ANOVA, MANOVA, regression). Qualitative data was obtained through interviews with 12 students and 11 teachers and were analyzed according to themes. The descriptive findings show that context, input and process aspects are at a high and medium level. In addition, the study found three variables that significantly influenced aspects within the product dimensions. The results of the interviews found that there were several problems that
arose during the implementation of the TMUA program such as time management, incomplete facilities and teacher competencies as well as several suggestions for improvement such as school support, consistent implementation of LDP for teachers and student intervention. Therefore, this study implicates that learning facilities, PdPc techniques and assessment methods play an important role in determining the effectiveness of the TMUA program implementation important role in determining the effectiveness of the TMUA program implementation. |
