Pendekatan kualitatif digunakan bagi menganalisismaklum balas pelajar (58 responden) dan pensyarah (4 informan), manakala pendekatankuantitatif telah digunakan bagi menganalisis soal selidik pelajar (234 responden) danskor markah penulisan ilmiah pelajar (122 responden). Dapatan kajian maklum balas pelajar telah membangunkan satu rubrik melalui proses penambahbaikan secaraberperingkat. Kesahan dan kebolehpercayaan yang tinggi terhadap rubrik dapat dilihatmelalui analisis Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC) dengan nilai r=0.929, Limit of Aggrement (LOA) yang menunjukkan kedekatan varians kepada beza min yang agakdekat (Min 0.429 daripada nilai ? 0.462) dan Standard Error of Measurements (SEM) yangdidapati rendah daripada1.00 dengan nilai 0.32. Analisis ujian-t terhadap skor markah draf awal dan draf akhirmelalui penilaian kendiri pelajar juga menunjukkan perbezaan yang signifikan dengan peningkatankualiti penulisan yang ketara (Min 12.17 kepada 17.13). Implikasinya, penggunaan rubrik berkesan dalam penilaian kendiri dan alat pengukuran penskoran pensyarah yang telus dan adil. Kajian ini telah membangunkan rubrik dan satu modelpenilaian yang memberi sumbangan baharu terhadap model penilaian sedia ada bagi kegunaankementerian, pendidik dan pelajar.
