Kajian yang dijalankan menerusikaedah tinjauan ini melibatkan responden yang terdiri daripada kakitangan sokongan IPTS, dibawah UniKL bahagian Utara Semenanjung Malaysia, iaitu UniKL Royal College of Medicine Perak, UniKL Malaysian Institute of Marine Engineering Technology dan UniKL MalaysianSpanish Institute. Soal selidik telah diedarkan kepada 152 sampel yang telah dipilih secara rawakberstrata dengan kadar respon 97.37%. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan tahap prestasi IPTS ini adalahtinggi (min = 3.73, sisihan piawai = 0.654) yang dicapai terutamanya menerusi kualitigraduan yang dihasilkan, penggunaan teknologi dan keupayaan organisasi memberi perkhidmatanyang baik. Dapatan juga menunjukkan nilai R adalah 0.782 iaitu, 78.2 peratus daripada variasi yangwujud dalam prestasi organisasi boleh diterangkan oleh gaya kepimpinan transformasional, gaya kepimpinan transaksional dan gaya kepimpinan laissez-faire. Kajianini mendapati gaya kepimpinan transformasional ( = 0.728, p 0.001 = 0.000) dan gayakepimpinan transaksional ( = 0.627, p 0.001 = 0.000) mempunyai pengaruh yang signifikan danpositif terhadap prestasi organisasi. Sebaliknya gaya kepimpinan laissez-faire ( = 0.312,p = 0.405) tidak mempunyai pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap prestasi organisasi. Olehitu dapat disimpulkan pemimpin mengamalkan gaya kepimpinan transformasional dan gaya kepimpinantransaksional, maka tahap prestasi organisasi yang tinggi dapat dicapai terutamanya dari aspekpengoperasian, penggunaan teknologi dan kewangan. Namun jika pemimpin mengamalkan gayakepimpinan laissez-faire, ianya tidak menyumbang kepada prestasi organisasi. Kajian ini memberi sumbangan penting kepada bidang kepimpinan IPTS memandangkan ianyamasih terhad di Malaysia. Dapatan kajian ini boleh dijadikan rujukan dan garis panduan kepadapelbagai pihak khususnya pentadbir organisasi dan kepimpinan IPTS dalam menentukan gayakepimpinan yang sesuai diamalkanterhadap kakitangan mereka.
