The MRP Module was</p><p>developed based on the adaptation of several theories and models, including ADDIE</p><p>(Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) Instructional Design</p><p>Model, Cognitive Process of Writing Theory, Canale and Swain of Communicative</p><p>Competence Theory and Model, and Model of Technical Writing Domains. This study</p><p>involved 134 engineering students from two conventional polytechnics in Malaysia,</p><p>selected using multistage random sampling. The 134 subjects were selected from four</p><p>classes which comprised two experimental groups and two control groups. The main</p><p>effect of the MRP Module was mainly measured quantitatively using a pre-post-test</p><p>design. Inferential statistics used included Paired-sample T-test, One-way ANCOVA,</p><p>and Two-way between-groups ANOVA. However, the effects of using the MRP</p><p>Module on the attitude aspect were measured quantitatively using descriptive statistical</p><p>analysis and students' attitudes were also measured qualitatively using Braun and</p><p>Clarke thematic analysis. The results revealed significant effects in experimental group</p><p>students on their knowledge, skills, and attitudes in English Technical writing after</p><p>using the MRP module. In conclusion, the usage of the MRP Module has improved</p><p>students' English Technical writing competence. Hence, this study proposes to use the</p><p>MRP Module in the teaching and learning Communicative English Course to the</p><p>Curriculum Division of Malaysian Polytechnic Education. Possessing English</p><p>Technical writing competence is an advantage to the engineering students, as it is one</p><p>of the leading employability attributes by the engineering industry.</p>
