总结:
This study examines the features of classicism in the work of Purananuru. The

objective of this study is to identify the characteristics of classicism, analyze the

characteristics of classicism and explain the uniqueness of the characteristics of

classicism in the work of Purananuru. This study is based on eight features of

classicism. This study uses source data taken from 400 poems found in the work of

Purananuru. The analysis and discussion are made based on the Sevviyal Theory

pioneered by Manavai Mustafa. This study uses a qualitative method that includes

textual and descriptive analysis studies. The results show that Purananuru has eight

sevviyal aspects namely thonmai, thanithanmai, pothupanpu, nadunilamai,

panpaaddu kalai paddarivu velipadu, ilakkiya valam, uyarsinthanai and kalai ilakkiya

thanithanmai velippadu pangkalippu. The findings of the study show that, the

elements of classicism found in Purananuru can be divided into eight sevviyal

features and the sevviyal features abundant in the works of Purananuru are

pothupanpu, panpaaddu kalai paddarivu velipadu and uyarsinthanai. The findings of

the study also prove that the eight sevviyal features recorded in Purananuru can

explain the uniqueness of its classicism. The results of this study will be a guideline to

the younger generation to identify and understand the characteristics of sevviyal

behavior found in classical Tamil literary texts. This framework can also be applied

by other researchers using our local Tamil literary texts.
