| 总结: | The study is about teaching Arabic for specific purposes and focuses on economic students. It explains the meaning of teaching Arabic for specific purposes itself and the significances of Arabic language in economics. The study aims at making process of teaching Arabic to economic students easier by designing Arabic language lessons in accordance to the students' needs and the principles of designing syllabus for teaching Arabic for specific purposes. Through a specially designed questionnaire that had been distributed to a number of economic students, the researcher explored the underlying needs behind the interest of economic students to learn Arabic, which was very essential to formulate the teaching objectives, the content of the lessons, the suitable teaching methodology and the means of testing and evaluations. The findings show that the important need of economic students at the International Islamic University Malaysia in learning Arabic is the ability to understand economics references in Arabic language. As a result, the researcher focuses on reading skills as it is very crucial to help students understand the economic terms and identify the main points of a text. |
