| الملخص: | This study aimes to demonstrate a clear picture of the effectiveness of teaching techniques which are used to develop the speaking skills in Arabic language among students of Jamiah Naleemiah Islamiah (Higher Education Institute) in Sri Lanka as a model. The researcher selected this institute because of the strong link he had with it as a student and a teacher, and this educational institute is a profound establishment for Muslim minority in Sri Lanka. This study answers the many important questions, like what are the teaching techniques used to develop the Arabic speaking skills in Jamiah Naleemiah? Are these effective techniques? The researcher used the descriptive and analytical approaches in this study, and distributed a questionnaire to analyse the views of teachers and students. It is found that in general, the teaching techniques at this institute need to be improved in order to enhance the proficiency of the Arabic language learners. |
