Summary: | Pulp and paper from Empty fruits bunches, kenaf core and kenaf bast are prepared by using soda, soda aq and kraft pulping processes (20% Active Alkali, 170°C and 2 hours cooking time). Tear Index, Burst index and freeness have been tested according to TAPPI standard method. The highest tear index (0.66803) come from kenaf bast and Kraft pulping. Kraft pulping also shows the highest Burst Index compare to soda and soda-AQ pulping. Kenaf core shows the lowest freeness value followed by EFB and Kenaf bast. |
